What We Believe
Triune God:
God the Father who has revealed Himself as an eternal infinite personal Spirit, the only true and living God - the great “I AM.”
God the Son, Jesus, who is eternal and uncreated became a man born of the virgin Mary conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His sinless life, miracles and teachings. Jesus offered himself on the cross in submission to the Father as the only suitable sacrifice to pay for all sin. He was buried and rose physically on the third day, breaking the curse of sin and death for all who put their faith in his sacrifice, resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of God the Father in heaven. He will one day return for His church.
God the Holy Spirit has existed eternally as God and was sent by the Father to seal and indwell every believer in Jesus Christ. He is our abiding helper, teacher, guide, intercessor, and empowerer to be Christ’s witnesses, gifting us with abilities to build-up the Kingdom of God.
The Bible:
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2Tim. 3:16-17) It is the infallible rule of faith and conduct and superior to conscience and reason.
Salvation:
We believe all people are created for relationship with God, but have been corrupted by sin to rebel against God. All people need forgiveness of sin and salvation from the power of sin to be restored to a right relationship with God. We believe this salvation can only be received by grace through faith apart from works as a gift of God through personal faith in Jesus Christ. In Christ we are made a new creation and given a new identity as saints. We believe saving faith is expressed by turning from our self-ruled life and submitting to Jesus, saying He is Lord and believing in our heart He died for our sin and rose again abolishing the power of sin and death. 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. (Rom 6:4)
